We had a full field of 26 players who came out today to challenge The Rancho Bernardo Inn Resort Golf Club. All the players assembled early at 7:45a and we were all sent out to our starting holes for the 8:00a “shot gun” start. The weather was perfectly pleasant and we were totally blessed with late morning sunshine. The course was in great conditions and especially the greens were perfectly groomed. “A” Game skills in course management were most needed today. Today’s round would be a “Major” event where elevated points were earned from good scoring. Every stroke counts and your standings by the end of the day would be determined how well you cold manage the course today.

Summary / Recap of Today’s Event 8 –

We had a fun filled day of golf as we were all blessed by perfect golfing conditions today. Navigating this course with high level golf course management skills was a must. Johnny Flores (Flight D) made his presence today and showed off some amazing “A” game golf skills where he posted a low gross 84 / low net 62 to catapult himself up the leaderboard. Additionally Johnny won a couple of “long drive” holes . All his great efforts today earned him 280 points to take him to the top of the leaderboard. Other players who scored well today were Ebin Smith, Paul Deveau, and Geoff Baynes, all who want to contend for this years Championship Cup. Our next event will next we as we move into our “Playoff Season” where we have planned events every two weeks. Every player will contend at this time for the cup, but as we narrow down our points leaders . Please see the above “Playoff Calendar” to see how it works.

Next event will be Friday, August 21, 2026 “Wild Card Round” – Ultimately players will be trying to earn as many points for the next 2 events to make it into the TOP 8. For the next 2 weeks, “Match Play” will be added to the competition to earn needed points. We will also play with our regular Low Gross / Low Net / Low Net Skins .

USGA / GHIN – Membership Responsibilities “Posting Golf Scores” –

USGA / GHIN – Membership Responsibilities “POSTING GOLF SCORES” – It is very important for all of us to have a good understanding of “golf handicap” and your “golf index” profile.   One of the elements of golf is the “integrity” of each player taking personal responsibility to post all qualified golf scores within 24 hours of date of play.   Your golf index is calculated daily and it is important to keep your golf profile as current as possible.  Failure to keep it current and NOT POSTING on a timely basis may be grounds for “penalty rounds” to be assessed.   If you have any difficulty or don’t completely understand the process, please visit the USGA learning center that explains via video all the info you need to know about “golf handicapping”

Player’s profiles and golf rounds are all subject be audited by the golf committee.  All players are required to “POST” their golf grounds ASAP as index ratings are calculated daily.  Please use Ghin.Com / or phone app to post your scores.
