Recap Event 2 – With our second event in the books, we were challenged with a tough layout today at Cross Creek GC. Our field of players felt the challenges of this course as many got “stung” with balls not making it to the short grass and dealing with the rough on this course can be costly. Ebin Smith took charge of his game and proved that he can play under touch conditions by firing and scoring a low gross 84. Both John Casey and Scott Crockett (Flight B) who know this course, came out swinging and showcased their “A” game skills with a low gross 90, to prove there are others around who are eyeing their swings on the 2026 cup. Also “staying out the rough” today was Curtis Chan who both posted a low gross 90 in the “C” flight…and Low Net honors with a low net score of 70. Bill Miller (in Flight “D”) posted a low gross 99 and he reported he was happy to get this round done as “trouble” was lurking all day around this course.
Our leader board stirred up a bit as a few players jumped a few positions as they received early season points. Curtis Chan with his low net win over the field now finds himself in 1st place position…being closed trailed by Paul Deveau. Both players reported in the media room that they had a tough day “grinding it out” to keep their ball in play all day. And their course management skills were sufficient enough to rise to the top of the board against the field today.
It’s early in the season, and there’s a large group of guys eager to activate their “A” game to make it into this year’s playoffs. Here’s the calendar of events for this year so you can plan accordingly.

USGA / GHIN – Membership Responsibilities “POSTING GOLF SCORES” – It is very important for all of us to have a good understanding of “golf handicap” and your “golf index” profile. One of the elements of golf is the “integrity” of each player taking personal responsibility to post all qualified golf scores within 24 hours of date of play. Your golf index is calculated daily and it is important to keep your golf profile as current as possible. Failure to keep it current and NOT POSTING on a timely basis may be grounds for “penalty rounds” to be assessed. If you have any difficulty or don’t completely understand the process, please visit the USGA learning center that explains via video all the info you need to know about “golf handicapping”
Player’s profiles and golf rounds are all subject be audited by the golf committee. All players are required to “POST” their golf grounds ASAP as index ratings are calculated daily. Please use Ghin.Com / or phone app to post your scores.
