News and Results – Event 1 St. Mark GC / San Marcos, California
Today we had an incredible day of golf as our golf group gathered for the 1st event of the year. We had a strong field of players, many fulfilling their New Year’s resolution to get out and play more golf. Some players admitted that this year would be a year they would break out and make a serious run for the coveted Seacoast Cup trophy. A big thanks for our tournament committee who were able to get a great deal on our round to play this course.
Welcome to our club: A few new guys came today to play with our group…welcome !! New comer Ed Rodriguez / and long time no see….Tom Liscum !! Great to see you guys.
In Loving Memory of our dear friend and golfer Bill Brackett
September 14, 1937 – December 28, 2018
Last month we reported that Bill’s health had turned for the worse and the doctors didn’t give him a long term prognosis as his cancer returned. If you look at last month’s posting, Bill put in a few words to the group as he was saying his “good byes” to us. Just a few days after Christmas, Bill passed away and he went to be with the Lord. Bill is now no longer in pain and is rejoicing in God’s arms. Before his passing, he wanted to relay many thanks for those who sent him cards of encouragement and for many of you have been thinking and praying for him. One of the last things he wanted to pass on to the group was that he knew his time was short, but he was firm in his belief in God’s promise that he was looking forward to living in Eternity with the Lord….he explained…” I am content and at peace with this. I know I will be in the arms of my Savior when I get home! I want to express my sincere thanks for all your thoughts and prayers these past years.” He wrote in an email: “Thank you all in the group who have provided such good times on the course with me… I have had such wonderful times playing with you in this Seacoast Christian Golf Group. I will be with my Lord soon and I am at peace with that and at times looking forward to it sooner than later. It has been a wonderful journey and He has kept me all the way. Blessings to you all !“

Bill has been an example of being a “Champion in Life“….thank you Bill for all your friendship and great times we have had with you these past years. We know your pains and agonies of this life are now a thing of the past and you now are at home where Joy & Peace abound … you now are in Eternity with our God. We all will miss you Bill !!
