Event 1 –January 10, 2020 Results – The Vineyards at Escondidio, CA

We had a big start to our 2020 golf season.  Twenty Eight golfers showed up in the early cold winter  temperature air to warm up their swings.  Many players had their ski winter outfits on and it looked like guys were waiting in line for a ski lift at the golf range .  Fortunately, by 8:00a, the sun broke through and began to warm the course and players were able to removed their layers to show off their latest golf attire.   Welcome to all those new comers to our club.  Most of the players in the field are all signed up for the 2020 season with our SCGA / GHIN / USGA  -Seacoast Christian GC organization.  We plan a fun filled year of golf for our club members and hope all of you will enjoy the friendly competition and year ending post season play which is planned.

A Big Congratulations to our Winners as some great golf was on display today. Here are the results.

Flight “A”  Low Gross Winner:   Ryan Alexander (88) 

Flight  “B”  Low Gross Winner :  Kevin Barrett (86)

Flight ” C”  Low Gross Winner:   Bruce Huebner (90)

Flight ” D”  Low Gross Winner:   Ed Rodriguez (89)

 

Overall Low Net Winner:  Ed Rodriequez (68)  

 

 

Recap Event 1 – With our first event in the books, we have a great start with Ed Rodriguez showing off his “A” game skills by posting a low gross 89 / low net 68 on the score board.  Other noteables: Kevin Barrett finished strong on the back nine a a few birdies which gave him low gross honors for the day as well as 2 skins which added an additional points to his totals.  Tom Abrell took 2 long drive holes, and Curtis Chan “lasered” in his short irons to win 2 closet to the pins.  Players where bewildered today as to how easily a ball could find its way into the many hazards this course has to offer.  Course management was a “MUST” on each shot as many found that a misplaced shot resulted in many undesired penalty strokes added to the score card.

Next Event – Friday, February 7, 2020 – Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Resort/  7:30a start      $65 per player includes range / cart  (JC Coupons will be accepted)
