Tee Times and Pairings

Our tour stop today is at “Twin Oaks GC.”  We had signed up a field of 30 players,  who enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and clear warm summer conditions.    The field of players were also eager to get this important round in as “Round 1 -Wild Card” as elevated points were available to win to help start our “playoff”  golf season on a good note.  Player who could rack up at least 200+ points would solidify their efforts into making it into the upper tear of players who want to go far into our playoff season.  As we compete in the “Playoff” season, players can earn Match Play playoff points for winning matches.  Also, our low gross / low net scoring, along with Net Skins and competition pin holes will add points to player’s totals.  So in a nutshell…play well, score well, post a good score and you’ll climb the ladder on our leaderboard.

Most of the players in the field are all signed up for the 2025 season with our SCGA / GHIN / USGA  -Seacoast Christian GC organization.  If you are a player who is not a member of our club, you are welcome to join and begin your SCGA / GHIN experience with our club.  Just click on the membership or renew membership link below.  We plan a fun filled year of golf for our club members.  It is the golf committee’s  hope  that all of you will enjoy the friendly competition and year ending post season play which has been planned for all to enjoy.   Along this year’s golf journey with us, we also hope you create new bonds of friendship and camaraderie.
Posting Scores – all players are very much encouraged to use the GHIN APP  or posting website with at www.ghin.com and record their scores ASAP.  The updated system does recalculate your golf index daily.  Players are admonished to keep their index “UP TO DATE” by posting their scores.  If you look at the responsibilities of the player, there is a part that needs players to to their part.  Player who DO NOT post their scores can be subject to “PENALTY” round postings.  If you have any questions, please let the committee know.

“Post A Score”  will now be accomplished through GHIN.com and the USGA GHIN Mobile App where you will also have access to your stats, complete score history, Handicap Calculator, Golfer Lookup, and Handicap Card.

Keep in mind, that a GHIN Digital Profile is required to post scores on GHIN.com and through the USGA GHIN Mobile App. If you have not used GHIN.com or the GHIN Mobile App to post scores, you will need to use the “Create Profile” button to create your digital profile. It is easy to do and just takes a few minutes.

Here are some instructional videos to help you set up a GHIN Digital Profile if you have not done so already:

Recap Event 9 – With our 9th event in the books, we were blessed  with another gorgeous day of golf.      The course was fair but tough.   This course can easily beat you up if you don’t find the fairway or green.  The greens were smooth, receptive and true.  In our “Flight A” group,   Ron O’Bard took charge and fired a low gross 36 on the front nine, showing why he is a contender this year.  He ended up with a low gross 78…nicely done Ron !    In the “B” flight,  Scott Crockett (our 2023 Seacoast Cup Champion) proved he is a contender and posted a low gross 82 / low net 70..to add 250 points to his totals.  In Flight “C” in our field, Curtis Chan  posted a Low Gross 90 after a shaky start, but he held it together to also earn a low net 70…adding 240 points to help him find himself in a tie for 5th place on the leaderboard.    In Flight “D” Steve Knorr once again showcased his steady golf skills and posted a Low Gross 102 to keep his chances alive in the playoffs.

With today’s round in the books, several players scored the needed points to keep up with the pack and launch their playoff hopes into the top 24.  Most of our top tier regular players kept up their standing and  playoff hopes alive.  The goal is to become a TOP 8 player by the end of event 10…so there’s much work to be done for several players who are in contention.

NoteablesCurtis Chan earned 240 points today which put him into the TOP 8 tier.  Scott Crocket  posted great scores to launch himself to 14th place. Ron O’Bard  who has only 4 events posted this year launched himself almost into the TOP 20.   Any player who is in the TOP 24…can win big at our next event and find himself in playoff contention.

It’s  now almost the end of our regular golf season, and there’s a large group of guys eager to activate their “A” game to make it into this year’s playoffs.    Come on out and post low scores and you’ll find yourself climbing our leaderboard to the playoffs.  Here’s the calendar of events for this year so you can plan accordingly.

Our “Post Season” playoffs are now here.  Event 9 , ROUND 1 “Wild Card”  of our playoffs, and with our “Playoff Season”  format,  anyone can rack up playoff points to get to the next level.  As proven today at  Twin Oaks  GC,  several players made their post season move and climbed up the ladder to position themselves in the TOP 20.  Next month will be even more exciting as the points value increases and the quest to be a TOP 8 player will be fought by many eager golfers.   Our playoff season has 2 events each month so study the schedule and points distribution carefully as it is posted below.  If you have any questions, please call or email Curtis Chan.

Our golf season is now transitioning into our ” Seacoast Cup –  Playoff Season”  and this is the time when players must activate their best golf game skills to make it deep into the playoffs.   The competition is fierce and every point counts.    If you are not familiar with how our playoff season works, please study the calendar below so you can understand how you can make it into the playoffs and perhaps be a candidate to hoist the trophy this year.

USGA / GHIN – Membership Responsibilities “POSTING GOLF SCORES” – It is very important for all of us to have a good understanding of “golf handicap” and your “golf index” profile.   One of the elements of golf is the “integrity” of each player taking personal responsibility to post all qualified golf scores within 24 hours of date of play.   Your golf index is calculated daily and it is important to keep your golf profile as current as possible.  Failure to keep it current and NOT POSTING on a timely basis may be grounds for “penalty rounds” to be assessed.   If you have any difficulty or don’t completely understand the process, please visit the USGA learning center that explains via video all the info you need to know about “golf handicapping”

Player’s profiles and golf rounds are all subject be audited by the golf committee.  All players are required to “POST” their golf grounds ASAP as index ratings are calculated daily.  Please use Ghin.Com / or phone app to post your scores.
