Seacoast Christian GC
The Field – Friday, May 10, 2019 The Crossings at Carlsbad, California
We had a full field of 28 players come out to play in the 5th Event of our Seacoast Christian GC season. The threat of rain was present when dark rain clouds began to blow towards the course. Local doppler radar showed pending rain cells looming over the course…but it would only be raining for 30-45 minutes. As players began to tee off, you could see the serious players pulliing out their wet weather rain gear. Some players were sporting the “real deal” rain gear and admitted they never felt so dry. But as soon as players began to get used to their rain attire, the sunshine made an appearance and the rain gear all went away. It turned out to be a beautiful San Diego golf day!
A big welcome to the following players who came out for their first time this year: Brett Herman and Dan Friedman (friend of Stan White)
A Big Congratulations to our Winners as some great golf was on display today. Here are the results.
Flight “A” Low Gross Winner: David DeMoss (74)
Flight “B” Low Gross Winner : Kent Coykendall (87)/ Paul Deveau (87)
Flight ” C” Low Gross Winner: John Casey (88)
Overall Low Net Winner: John Riggs (67)
Great Scoring – Our tournament committee likes to acknowledge those players who show their great skills at posting low scores and accuracy in managing their games.
Recap Event 5 – With five events in the books, we are almost at our mid season point and now there will be a push towards our end of year “playoff match play season” which begins in August. Our leader board is still headed up by Kent Coykendall who has a renewed mission to take hold of the “Seacoast Cup” this year. John Casey and John Riggs both scored their way to big points this month and have both climbed the ladder to get into contention for the match play playoffs. The Seacoast Christian GC golf season is now fully underway and a great finish is shaping up…so get to the range and bring it on to the next event!
Next Event – Friday, June 7, 2019 – Arrowood GC / 7:30a start Green Fee $56
This next event will start to shape up our “Playoff Season” starting in August 2019. Players are now positioning themselves on the leader board to get into the top 20. There are several more opportunities to score monthly regular season points and also take advantage of big points during our 2nd Major event of the year in August.
Our next event at Arroowood GC always demands our player’s best golf skills. Those players who play well will gain the needed points towards their playoff hopes.
