Seacoast Christian GC ,  March 8, 2019

The Field –  Friday, March 8, 2019   Encinitas Ranch GC,  Encintias,  California

We had a full field of 43 players come out to play in the 3rd Event of our Seacoast Christian GC season.  The threat of rain was pending for our long awaited event.  Three straight days of rain with a 20% chance of rain predicted for our Friday event.  But the rain dissappeared as our players began to make their way from the parking lot to the range.  By the time the majority of the field showed, the sun was making its way to clear all the clouds.  It turned out to be a very NICE day of golf !!   Although the course was wet, the “lift, clean, and place” your ball rule was implement, which gave our golfers a needed break.

Due to the fullness of our field today, the tournament committee decided to open up a 4th Flight to our group was added to keep the competition at it’s best.  The break down for each flight was based on player’s course handicap.  Players without official golf indices were placed in flights base on their scoring and playing ability.

Flight A –  handicap 5-10

Flight B –  handicap 11-16

Fight  C –  handicap 17-21

Flight D – handicap 22-37

A big welcome to the following players who came out for their first time this year:   Dave Abella, Jeff Schaefer, Chris Martz, Brian Kirkpatrick, Jason Young, Buzz Mills, Dave Allen, Stan White, and John Winfield

Recap Event 3 – With three events in the books, we have added a bunch of new competitors to our group who look like they want to get to the playoffs this season.   Our leader board is still headed up by Ryan Alexander who was unable to compete in this event due to illness.  Fortunately for Ryan, the points he earned over the first 2 events have allowed him to stay ahead of the pack.   Tom Abrell shot one of his best round and scored well enough to take LOW NET honors from the field of 43 players.  Way to go Tom !!    The Seacoast Christian GC golf season is now underway…so get to the range and bring it on to the next event!
